Walking in Ireland-short walks or hard Hikes-You Decide

Walking is one of the most popular forms of exercise in Britain with more than 20% of the population recreationally walking for 30 minutes or more-which is almost twice the number of swimming. Walking is easily accessible to all, young or old, adjust or not, people can walk at a pace and a place that suits them. And best of all tends to take him to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the United Kingdom and Ireland has to offer.

For the more adventurous and fit between you, there are routes from long distances to Wicklow way or shape of Kerry. From Marlay Park in Dublin to 132 km Wicklow way winds through mountains of Wicklow, Glendalough, Glenmalure and Clonegal. It usually takes 5 days to walk the entire length of the path, then you need a place to eat and sleep, or you can choose only a section to get you started.

For a good day walks travel West to County Mayo lovely and scenic Keenagh Loop walk. This takes you to the bridge of Bellanaderg through wonderful landscapes and remote wilderness. You will walk to the bridge of Derryroe to the Glendorragha Valley and the eastern slope of the Knockaffertagh; and you'll get a view of Glenhest, Newport and North Mayo. Approximately 12 miles is a good day walk, but fine for fitness, health and hikers prepared.

Northern Ireland offers plenty for the walker. For a great challenge (or fight it in phases) is the way to Ulster than 1000km which takes you right round of Northern Ireland! For short vacation more manageable try Ballintoy hotels Bushmills or the Glenariff Forest Park Scenic Trail to steep ascents, followed by a fantastic view. If you would like to take a ride with someone who is less mobile, then there is a beautiful walk in the Lagan Valley Regional Park, which will lead you alongside rivers, channel locks and bridges.

And wherever you stay on the island of Ireland there are hundreds of short walks, strolling through cities and villages, lakes, and glen or just down to the local pub for the craic; There is nowhere better to walk.
